The Mid-Prairie softball team plays host to non-conference foe Fairfield Wednesday at Carr, Vincent, Gould Field in Kalona. The Golden Hawks are 4-11 on the year after splitting with Iowa City Regina Monday on the road by 5-2 and 4-1 scores. On the season, the Hawks are hitting .234 as a team, led by Cassidy Rourke at .364 with 10 RBI and five home runs. The Golden Hawks have a team ERA of 4.38 with Rourke throwing a team high 30 innings with a 1-4 record and 4.90 ERA.

Fairfield is 11-8 this year. They split a pair of games at Mount Pleasant Monday, winning 17-5 and falling 5-1 to the Panthers. On the season the Trojans are hitting .292 as a team with Hannah Simpson leading the way at .508 with 31 hits and 21 RBI. Fairfield’s team ERA is 3.56 with Allison Rebling posting a 6-4 record across 63 innings with a 1.78 ERA. These two teams met a season ago with Fairfield sweeping the doubleheader by a combined 23-1 score.
