Washington State Bank’s Pack The Pumpkin Food Drive

September 12 - October 15

Washington State Bank’s Pack The Pumpkin Food Drive is coming on Monday, September 12th to Saturday, October 15th. For the food drive, items such as canned foods, peanut butter, dry goods, child friendly foods, toilet paper, and hygiene projects are welcome. Drop off the goods at any of the three Washington State Bank lobbies during the specified hours, and the donation will be matched. Community Action of Southeast Iowa and The Lord’s Cupboard will benefit from the donated items.

Scouting For Food Event In Wellman, Keota, and Kalona

October 1 @ 12:00 am - October 8 @ 3:00 pm

There will be a Scouting For Food event. In Kalona, Pack 234 will deliver bags on October 1st and pick up food on October 8th from 9am to noon. In Wellman and Keota, Troop 234 will deliver bags on October 2nd and pick up food on October 8th from noon to 3pm. All donations stay at local food banks in each of the three communities.

Just Us Girls Women’s Scholarship

Just Us Girls is giving women in Washington County a $750 college scholarship. Applicants must be involved in music in their community or college and have completed at least one year of high school. Friday, October 7th he will speak at First Assembly of God Church in Washington at 9:30a.m. Sunday, October 9th he will speak at Bethel Mennonite Church in Wayland at 10:30a.m. Tuesday, October 11th at 7p.m. he will speak at the Washington Public Library in the Nicola Stoufer Room.
