The Washington School district has not had class in more than a week and a half.

With that knowledge the school district decided on Monday to host lunches at different sites around the district so that kids who may not have enough to eat at home would not go hungry during this time. Washington Superintendent Willie Stone tells KCII news that between sites at Stewart and Lincoln Elementary and the Brighton Community Center, 74 lunches were served on Monday. Washington has already canceled school on Wednesday and hopes to get back to class Thursday.
