Electrical, sewer, concrete, ventilation and more was improved over the past year in preparation of the 2017 Washington County Fair.
Fair Board member Brayton Turner says the 24-member board works frequently to get everything in place, at least a couple of nights each week leading up to the week-long event. He explains they put new curtains on the north hog building and improved airflow, “It definitely gets warm in there, that’s for sure.” The 4-H Hall had electrical updates, improved ventilation and there will be more events held on the stage that was placed in there last year. Turner says one project that was completed in the off season will help many areas on the grounds was the installation of new sewer lines. Also, concrete was poured in the parking lot on the east side of Dahlmeyer Hall. Join the KCII Big Red Radio at the Washington County Fair next week, July 16-21.
