Potential projects will be discussed at the Washington County Conservation Board’s monthly meeting this Thursday.

Kalona Eagle Scout Trevor Nida will discuss a potential bat house project at Marr Park. Washington County Conservation Director Steve Anderson explains the project, “In this particular case, he actually wants to build bat houses and install them. They are a specialty product that certain species of bats can inhabit. They either sleep there and/or have places where they can actually raise their young.”

Other items on the agenda include the Kewash Trail Kiwi Avenue crossing, Clemons Creek shooting range, and a master trails renovation planning project. The board meets on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Conservation Education Center in Ainsworth.
