The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves football team will look to improve their playoff standing this evening.The Wolves (5-2 overall; 4-1 in district) travel to Van Buren this evening for a district match with the Warriors (5-2 overall; 4-1 in district). The winner of tonight’s game will take over sole possession of second place in Class A’s district six standings.

Winfield-Mount Union is led offensively by quarterback Kolt Rossiter, who has collected 1027 yards of total offense and scored 17 total touchdowns. The Wolves defense has been good at taking the football away from their opponent, forcing a total of 18 turnovers (8 interceptions, 10 fumble recoveries) this season.

Van Buren is led on offense by their quarterback Garrett Saunders. The Warriors’ senior has collected 1868 yards of total offense and has scored 25 total touchdowns this season. Saunders also leads Van Buren with 48.5 total tackles. Their lone district loss came to Pekin on September 26th, falling to the Panthers 55-20.
