Those planning on attending this evening’s Columbus Community football game are encouraged to wear pink to tonight’s game.

The Wildcats (3-4 overall, 2-3 in district play) will celebrate it’s seniors tonight as they welcome in the Sigourney-Keota Cobras (3-4 overall; 2-2 in district play) for a district showdown. Columbus Community Schools is encouraging parents and patrons of tonight’s game to wear pink in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Eleven seniors are set to play their final home football game this evening at Columbus.

Seniors include DJ Beechum, Austin Edwards, Ricardo Roman, Mitch Griffin, Angel Rodriguez, Chase Finke, Josh Boyd, Nick Bloomquist, Zack Kling, Jarret Lekwa and Aramis Perez.

On the field, the Wildcats will attempt to stop one of the best running backs in the state in Peyton Crawford. The Cobras’ junior has ran for 1,088 yards, has another 163 yards receiving, and has scored 14 total touchdowns.

For Columbus Community, junior running back Maurico Ramirez is closing in on a 1,000 yard season. Ramirez needs just 17 yards tonight to surpass the mark.
