Mid-Prairie School District will hold off on a new Central Office for the time being. Superintendent Mark Schneider says that he and the Board of Education agreed the estimate for a new office was too much and adds the district has other needs besides the office. He explains that once the district’s current bonds retire in a few years, they can think about a new bond issue that will address all of the district’s needs.

Deciding not to build the office frees up funds that can go toward paying off the bonds a year early in 2015. Schneider says that a bond issue can then be addressed as early as 2014. Mid-Prairie will continue to use the trailer at the current site as the Central Office.
