The asphalt portion of Kalona’s 2012 street improvements begins today. According to City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh, road work on the 13th Street cul-de-sac, portions of D Avenue, H Avenue and 9th street will start today. The work is projected to be done by October 19th. The asphalt work is being done by Hanson Asphalt out of Iowa City for around $166,000. The work is not expected to cause any detours.
