As the Riverside City Council begins to welcome a new member, the Riverside Planning and Zoning Commission is left with an empty seat.
Kevin Kiene was recently elected to fill the two-year council seat left by Kevin Mills who was originally appointed to fill the vacant seat after Jeanine Redlinger resigned in May. Now as a newly elected member of the council, Kiene can no longer serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission. He has served on the commission for the past five years. With his departure, City Administrator Christine Yancey says they will post the opening to the public for anyone interested in serving on the commission. This January Mills will begin a four-year term held by Andy Rodgers, who resigned earlier this month due to moving out of the city. This leaves the seat open until the end of this year. Yancey says the vacancy has been publicized for any resident who wish to be appointed, though the council will likely vote to appoint Mills to serve out the rest of the term. Kiene will also join the council at the start of the new year.
