Congressman Dave Loebsack (D) visited a local business in downtown Washington Friday.
Loebsack toured the offices and met with the staff of Knee Deep Solutions, LLC, a business that provides solutions related to manure management planning for farmers and their swine operations. Owner Rachel Rinner shares how Knee Deep Solutions started, “My company started about 12 years ago. At the time my husband’s barn needed a manure management plan so I started with his and it kind of just [was] word of mouth, it’s just kind of grown ,‘Hey, I heard you did one, can you do mine?’ And it’s slowly grown as my kids went to school I went to full time and then I started hiring people and it just continues to grow slowly. But it’s all been word of mouth which is what we love because it means we’re doing really good work.”
Loebsack complimented Rinner and the staff on the work they do as being one aspect of swine production, “I think it’s a good thing to have good hard accurate data whenever we’re debating any issue and that’s what they have, you know they do the soil testing and all the rest they’ve got the matrix in front of them and they fill in the blanks basically with the data and that’s what I think is really important is to provide good, scientific data.”
Knee Deep Solutions’ services include preparation of initial MMPs or construction permits, as well as annual compliance management.
