A house was picked up and moved in Washington Tuesday afternoon. One of the United Presbyterian Home cottages was moved to Madison Street in Washington. CEO Mike Moore worked with Coleman Construction to have the house placed. The UP Home needed the residence relocated or demolished to make room for their expansion on the current health center. The expansion will include 17 private rooms, a 16-bed dementia specific area, and increased space for the wellness and fitness area with a therapy pool.

The cottage had been used by the chaplain until last March and will now be repurposed and used by someone else. The cottage was originally built on the UP Home campus in 1953. For photos of the move visit KCII Radio’s Facebook page.
