The Highland Huskies and Hillcrest Academy Ravens came away from Wednesday’s Class 1A Girls Regional Golf Final at Heritage Oaks in Wapello with the big prizes.

The Huskies earned their fourth straight bid to State as Regional Final Champs with their team score of 377, eight shots clear of second place Easton Valley. Emersyn Schultz was medalist runner-up with her round of 82. Brooklyn Tott of Bellevue was the individual champion with an 81. Other scores for the Huskies included Adisyn Prottsman 83, Joslyn Prottsman 95, Cassidy Duster and Autumn Guseman 117 and Kenzie Davis 122.

Hillcrest Academy finished third in the team standings with a 389. While the group season came to an end, Claire Withrow made history as the first Raven to ever make State, placing sixth with her round of 90. Other Hillcrest cards included Maddie Carolan 93, Annika Schrock and Ava Miller 103, Brynna O’Rourke 113 and Emma Parizek 114.

Winfield-Mt. Union was fifth with a 442. Ella Kann was the leader with 99, followed by Kellee Milks 101, Ashlyn Bender 104, Brynn Pogmore 138 and Isabella Martinez 139.

Hailey Wellington represented the Columbus Wildcats, finishing in 22nd individually with a score of 106.

The Huskies and Hillcrest’s Withrow advance to next week’s Class 1A State Tournament at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone.
