
Multiple rounds of rainfall have elevated some local river levels.
According to the US Army Corps of Engineers, as of Wednesday, the English River at Kalona reached 13.1 feet with a flood stage of 14 feet. This level saw a nearly six-foot increase in a twenty-four-hour period.
The Skunk River near Sigourney was just under the flood stage at 15.4 feet on Wednesday. The flood stage is 16 feet. This is a nearly five-foot increase in 24 hours.
According to the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities, more precipitation is in the forecast for Thursday.
