A pair of local schools faced a stacked field at Tuesday’s Danville Golf Invitational

The Highland girls had the top area team finish, placing third of 10 with their score of 384. Fort Madison won the meet championship with a 366. Emersyn Schultz led the way for the Huskies in a tie for fifth with an 18-over 89 for 18. Burlington Notre Dame’s Emersyn Hopkins was the individual champ with a seven-over-par 78. Other scores for Highland included Adisyn Prottsman 92, Joslyn Prottsman 95, each finishing in the top 10, Autumn Guseman 108, Mackenzie Davis 117 and Cassidy Duster 124.

The WACO girls did not post a team score. They were led individually by Reese Roth with a 20-over-par 91 to finish sixth. Morgan Meyer fired a 95 to place top 10.

For the boys, the WACO Warriors ended sixth of 10 teams with a 371 score. Central Lee won the championship at 305. Top WACO card came from Ian Maize with a 15-over-par 86. The Hawk’s Carson Morrison was the individual winner at 74. Other Warrior scores included Malachi Rinner 91, Carsten Wilson 95, Kellen Shelman 99, Teage Pepper 100 and Nick West 107.

Highland was ninth of nine with a 405, paced by Kyler Fink and Presten Smith’s matching 98s. They were followed by Isaac Giesmann 103, Keegan Sexton 106, Donald Edwards 117 and Landon Roling 121.
