The No. 5 in Class 3A Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team was beaten on their home floor Tuesday by No. 11 in Class 2A Iowa City Regina in four sets. The Regals got the win 25-23, 25-17, 17-25 and 25-17. Coming into the night, a Mid-Prairie win, and the Golden Hawks would celebrate their third straight River Valley Conference regular season title as the sole winners, a loss to the Regals means the Hawks split the championship with West Liberty, who Mid-Prairie beat in straight sets earlier this year. Tuesday leaders for the Golden Hawks included Avery Helmuth with 25 assists. Jeorgia Evans had 25 digs. Elise Foster had 20 digs. Jovi Evans with 20 kills and five blocks. Claire Trimpe with 17 assists. Harper Pacha with nine kills. Katelyn Harland and Laurin Fay had four blocks each. Jeorgia Evans, Foster, Helmuth and Harland each had an ace.

This is the third consecutive River Valley title in the regular season for Mid-Prairie, the longest such streak in school history. The Golden Hawks are back on the floor Saturday at Clear Creek Amana.
