It’s the second meeting of the season tonight for two Southeast Conference rivals when the Washington basketball teams gear up for another showing with Mount Pleasant.

The No. 4 Demon boys will try to stay just one game off the pace at the top of the SEC with their 5-1 league mark compared to No.1 Fort Madison’s 5-0 mark. Washington is 12-1 overall and last beat Davis County 84-67 on Tuesday where Kasen Bailey dropped a career-high 39 points. The senior moved up his scoring average to 16.9 points a night, just behind Ethan Patterson with 18.2. The Panthers are 4-8 overall and fourth in the league with a 2-4 conference mark. The Demons took care of business in the first bout in December by a 70-41 score.

The Demon girls have lost 11 of the last 12 meetings with the Panthers and will try to seek revenge from a 61-32 loss last month. Washington is 1-12 overall and dropped to 1-6 in the league with a 63-22 loss to Keokuk on Tuesday. The orange and black will try to ramp up the offense with just 30.2 points a game and Alex Murphy recording 6.1 of them. Mount Pleasant is 6-8 overall and 2-4 in the league with their latest win coming against Danville 67-54 on Monday. Andrea Lopreato has been a handful with 20.2 points a game while shooting 54% from the floor.
