It is go-time for volleyball teams in the state of Iowa with the kickoff of the postseason starting today and a lot of area teams will hit the court.

It will be an area matchup in Wayland when WACO plays host to Keota in class 1A. The Warriors finished the regular campaign 20-12 and the Eagles are 9-15. WACO won the only meeting of the year on September 28th in a two set sweep.

Winfield-Mt. Union will welcome Highland for a rematch in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference. The Wolves won 3-0 in a match last month and finished second in the north division with a 20-10 mark compared to Highland’s 11-14.

Lone Tree gets to enjoy one more home game against an unfamiliar foe in English Valleys. The Lions are 6-20 and the Bears are 5-21 out of the South Iowa Cedar League.

Sigourney has had their way with Tri-County with a pair of match wins and they will look for a third victory at home. The Savages finished sixth in the SICL with a 15-13 overall record and the Trojans sit at 3-23.

In class 2A, Columbus Community will have the same first round bout as last year with a trip to Durant. The battle of the Wildcats has Columbus at 4-20 and Durant at 10-24.

All start times are scheduled for 7 p.m. this evening.
