The battle for second place in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference north division was on the line in Winfield on Tuesday and the Wolves’ volleyball team was all business en route to a three set sweep over Mediapolis (11-21).

Both teams had a 6-1 mark coming in and WMU would not be denied their seventh league win with set scores of 25-18, 26-24, and 25-15. Four different Wolves recorded at least five kills led by Bradie Buffington with eight while Melina Oepping and Morgan Grelk had seven. Keely Malone dished out 26 assists and Keetyn Townsley registered 14 digs to go along with 16 of 16 serving with three aces. 

The win pushes the Wolves to 7-1 in the division with Wapello at the top sitting at 7-0 and one more match tomorrow against Lone Tree (6-18). WMU concludes the regular campaign 20-10 and now they gear up for Monday’s first round regional bout vs Highland (10-14).
