The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team advanced through the prelim round of the River Valley Conference tournament Tuesday at Monticello. The Golden Hawks had a 1-1 record for the evening as they swept the rival Iowa City Regina Regals for the second time this year by 21-19 and 21-18 scores before falling to the Panthers on their home floor for the second time in a week by sweep 21-15 and 21-10. With the split, Mid-Prairie is 15-12 on the year and advances to Thursday’s championship round of the RVC tournament hosted by Wilton.

Joining Mid-Prairie in Wilton Thursday is Anamosa, Monticello, North Cedar, Tipton, West Branch, No. 7 in class 3A West Liberty and the No. 2 in class 2A homestanding Beavers.
