A Sigourney man has been charged with multiple child endangerment counts after leaving his young children alone at home. According to the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office, on September 9, 37-year-old Stefanson Dore II was driving around Sigourney while his two-, three-, and five-year-old children were alone at their residence with no adult supervision. Later on, an aunt of the children arrived at the home and found the door was wired shut. On September 10, Dore appeared before a judge, was held on $5,000 cash or surety bond, and had a no contact order put in place between himself and his three children. He has been charged with three counts of child endangerment, all are aggravated misdemeanors. His preliminary court hearing was scheduled for Friday.
