The Southeast Iowa Superconference puts their league on display tonight in the boys edition of the Superconference Shoot Out. In the 2020 edition of the yearly event, Hillcrest Academy travels to New London for the fourth place game in the conference. The Ravens were fourth in the north division with a 9-7 record, the Tigers were fourth in the south at 8-5. Other matchups include divisional champs No. 2 WACO and Pekin, Highland and Burlington Notre Dame as division runners-up. Those games will be played as part of the final four championship event at Iowa Wesleyan University. Third place teams Lone Tree and West Burlington will meet, Wapello squares off with Danville in the fifth place game, Mediapolis meets Cardinal in the sixth place contest, Winfield-Mt. Union takes on Holy Trinity in the seventh place showdown, L-M and Central Lee match up in the eighth place game and Columbus faces Van Buren in the ninth place contest.

Hillcrest comes into tonight at 9-8 overall after a 55-36 win over Columbus on Tuesday in Kalona. Hillcrest was led by Eli Ours with 22 points and Kobe Borntrager at 14. For the season Ours leads the team with an 18 point per game average. He is also the team leader with 63 assists. Kobe Borntrager is best on the glass with 108 boards.

New London enters tonight at 10-7 overall. They fell to WACO on Tuesday 70-44. On the season the Tigers are led by Grant Swanson at 18 points per game. He has a team high 121 rebounds and Blaise Porter leads the team with 80 assists and 56 steals. These two teams met once this season with the Tigers taking a 53-34 win in Kalona, Eli Ours scored a team high 13 points. Action begins tonight at 6p.m. with JV first and varsity to follow.
