It’s the second to last conference matchup of the year for the Washington basketball teams, as they face off with Fort Madison for the second time tonight.

The Demon girls had a four-game win streak snapped on Tuesday when they fell to Fairfield 50-26 to drop to 11-6 overall and 4-4 in the Southeast Conference. Anna Nacos led the way for Washington with 13 points. The Demons doubled up the Bloodhounds last month winning 46-23 in their first game of the New Year. Fort Madison is 5-12 and led by Camille Kruse with 9.4 points a night.

The Demon boys were last in action on Monday when a big fourth quarter propelled them to a 61-47 victory over Mid-Prairie to move them to 12-4 on the season. Washington grinded out a 57-50 win over the now 6-11 Bloodhounds on January 3rd. Fort Madison’s Jayden Fedler averages 12.6 points a night. The Demons are 7-1 in the league and a win would set up a possible de-facto conference championship with Keokuk next Friday. The Chiefs are 6-1 and face off with Fairfield tonight and Burlington on Tuesday before the Demon contest to end the week.

Listen to the girls’ game on FM 106.1 KCII with the road contest beginning early at 7 p.m.
