Recently, officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Iowa Homeland Security staff were in Columbus Junction to document damage caused by a mudslide. They also met with members of city government. The original incident occurred in May and damaged streets, water and sewer lines on Oakview Drive. City officials believe that at least some of the damage costs will be reimbursed to the city but not final decision has been made.
