Washington High School will be packed with volleyball fans for the first time this fall, as the Demons welcome Mount Pleasant tonight for the home and Southeast Conference opener.

The Demons are 2-6 on the year and coming off of a triangular at Wapello where they lost to Central Lee and Wilton but defeated Columbus. The Panthers are 1-8 on the season and led by Avery Sutter with 22 kills. Ralyn Seberg has 32 assists and Apryl Simon has recorded 29 digs. Washington was victorious against Mount Pleasant in both meetings last year. Head Coach Lexa Mahr tells KCII Sports what she wants to see out of her team tonight. “We just have to focus on our side of the net and remain calm in chaos situations. Previously we have had that moment where we are unsure of ourselves and don’t know who should go get the ball. We have to remain calm in those situations and it will be big for us.”

The action begins at 7:15 p.m. in Washington.
