heat-watch

Heat index readings could reach 110 degrees during the day, causing an excessive heat warning to be put into effect for all of the KCII-listening area. The National Weather Service states the heat will linger through Saturday evening with high humidity possible. It is recommended that people drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and wear lightweight, light-colored, loose clothing. Washington County Public Health Administrator Danielle Pettit-Majewski says waiting until your thirsty is too late, you need to continually be drinking water in such conditions so that your body can cool itself. She also encourages people to seek shade when outside, find air conditioning when indoors, and check on your neighbors.
