The Lone Tree softball team is moving on in the playoffs, as they defeated English Valleys 4-0 on Monday night in the first round of a class 1A regional.

Abby Buckman saved her best pitching for the right time, as she tossed a complete game two-hitter without giving up a walk and striking out 17 batters. Arlie Lorack provided the offense going 3-for-3 with a run scored and Holley Johnson brought in two runs.

The Lions improve to 11-13 and face top seeded Lynnville-Sully (23-8) on the road tonight starting at 7 p.m.
