Downtown Washington will be up on the big screen in Downtown Washington this Friday. The second Movies on Main of the season will be Friday in Central Park with a showing of Saving Brinton. The second Friday of each summer month Main Street Washington shows a free movie in the park starting at 8:30 p.m. This week’s film is the documentary that follows retired Washington teacher and local historian Michael Zahs as he shares some of the world’s oldest films. Those antique films belonged to Washington couple Frank and Indiana Brinton in the 1890s and early 1900s.

The documentary has been featured at film festivals around the world including New York City, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., London, Belgium, Korea, Argentina, Greece, and it’s grand opening was at the State Theater in downtown Washington.
