The Washington soccer teams faced off with Southeast Conference foe Fort Madison on Thursday and fell in a pair of matches.

The boys traveled to face the Bloodhounds and couldn’t keep up in a 4-2 defeat. After an own goal in favor of Fort Madison the Demons found the equalizer when Simeon Buie dished the ball to Garrett Ikerd and the senior weaved his way through traffic for the score. With the contest notched up at 1-1 at intermission the Bloodhounds came out strong in the final 40 minutes quickly scoring three consecutive times. The Demons got their final tally with 30 seconds left when Ben Baughman fed Noah Suchan for the goal.  The girls hosted Fort Madison and could not muster up much offense in a 2-0 defeat.

The boys fall to 2-5 on the season and the girls drop to 5-3. Both teams get back on the pitch Monday against Mount Pleasant.
