Three fire departments extinguished a house fire near Keota Wednesday. According to the Washington County Communications Office, there was a fire in the attic of the home at 1840 Keokuk Washington Road, north of Keota at 2:11 p.m. Everyone was able to get out of the house and waited in a vehicle until help arrived. Firefighters from Keota, Wellman, and Sigourney responded. Also, Washington County Sheriff’s personnel, Washington County Ambulance, Wellman Rescue, Keota QRS, and Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene. Alliant and the Red Cross were notified. No injuries were reported.
