
The Mid-Prairie and Washington basketball teams square off in Wellman tonight in a doubleheader for Mid-Prairie’s Slam Dunk Cancer night.
The Demon girls come into tonight with a 6-10 record, coming up 10 points short against Keokuk on Friday night for their third straight loss. Olivia Pacha led the Demons with nine points in that one, and Kinsey Duwa scored seven. The Golden Hawk girls, meanwhile, are losers of two straight, most recently losing to Regina in Iowa City by 13. The Hawks were led by Maddie Nonnenman in that contest with 10 points.
On the boys’ side, Washington comes in as winners of four of their last five games, including a 34-point trouncing of Keokuk this past Friday. Brock Sobaski had a breakout game against the Chiefs by putting up 18, and Ethan Hunt and Cade Hennigan were also in double-figures. Mid-Prairie will be hungry for a win tonight after dropping their last two. This includes a eight-point loss to Regina on Saturday, in which the Hawks were led by Ethan Trimpe with 23 points and nine boards.
