The Washington wrestling team will have one more Southeast Conference duel tonight at home, taking on Mount Pleasant.

The Demons are coming off a narrow conference loss to Fort Madison in a duel that went down to the final match.  They bounced back with a dominant duel against Mid-Prairie.  Then they went to Highland on Saturday for the Gary Curtis Invitational, where three wrestlers won their weight classes and three others fell in the championship rounds to take second.

The Demons take on a Panther team that’s been competitive all year long.  Head coach Brent Van Weelden says we can expect a good one tonight.

“Looking at the paper, there’s going to be some toss-up matches, and we’re going to have to win several of those,” Van Weelden said.  “But it’s going to be a close duel.  They’ll come in and give us their best effort.  I’m sure in their minds they’re thinking they can beat us, and we’re thinking the same thing.”

Tonight’s duel will be broadcast live on FM 106.1 with coverage starting at 6:00.
