The Sigourney-Keota football team took to the road in week five and faced off against a Wilton team that held them to a 35-0 shutout. Now, it’s back at home for the Cobras, and they’ll look to get back on the winning track when they welcome Van Buren to town tomorrow night for their homecoming game.
Van Buren scored their first win of the season last week, beating KCII area team Columbus 24-6. SK, according to head coach Jared Jensen, has been suffering a lot in recent weeks from injury. Jensen says these next few weeks will be more about getting back to full strength than anything else.
“We’ve got to take these next couple weeks to really evaluate who we have, who’s injured; who we might have the opportunity to sit out if we want to or have to, just to get healthy,” Jensen said.
Kickoff in Sigourney is set for 7:00.
