The Washington Demon girls golf team is looking to make a return trip to the state tournament today as they tee it up for regionals at Emeis Park Golf Course in Davenport.

Washington comes in as champions of the Southeast Conference after their round of 315 at Mount Pleasant last week. Sarah Nacos was the individual conference champ for Washington with her even-par round of 72. On the season the Demons are 55-1 and ranked No. 1 in class 3A according to the latest poll from the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association. The Demons have six players ranked in the top 25 led by Sarah Nacos at No. 2 in the state with her 74 average per 18 holes. Anna Nacos is ranked No. 4, Kiki Guo No. 5, Megan Strabala No. 17 and Josie Tanner No. 22. Washington’s 324 average per 18 holes is best in the state regardless of class.

Washington will be joined in the quad cities by Burlington Notre Dame, Center Point-Urbana, Central DeWitt, No. 19 Davenport Assumption, No. 36 Fairfield, No. 33 Keokuk, No. 12 Maquoketa, No. 39 Marion, No. 17 Mount Pleasant, No. 31 Solon, and No. 26 West Liberty. Action continues all day in the quad cities.
