The Iowa Mennonite School volleyball team had a big year in 2017 and was recognized for their hard work by the Southeast Iowa Superconference this week as six players earned All-conference honors.
Junior Suzanna Yoder was a first team all-league selection as a utility player. Yoder finished in the top 10 in the conference in both kills at 10th with 146 and digs, third with 350.
Senior Alyssa Hershberger was a second team all-conference pick as a hitter. Hershberger finished the year with 124 kills, second most on the year for IMS.
Junior Sami Miller was a second team all-conference selection as a setter. She ended sixth in the Superconference with 256 assists on the season.
Senior Raine Hathaway was a second team all-conference pick as a defensive specialist. She was sixth in the Superconference with 296 digs on the year. Her 3.84 digs per set were third in the league.
IMS had two honorable mention all-conference selections in junior Rubye Ney and senior Avery Blauvelt. Ney finished the year with 136 assists, 86 kills and 105 digs. Blauvelt ended the season with 38 aces, 10th most in the Superconference. Her .49 aces per set were eighth in the league. She also had 196 digs and 89 kills. IMS ended the season with a 15-14 record.
