The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team came up short in their home River Valley Conference opener Thursday night at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman against Northeast Goose Lake.

The Rebels got the road win in four sets 18-25, 25-9, 25-21 and 25-22. In the match the Hawks were led by Myah Lugar with 10 kills, Caitlyn Riggan totaled 21 assists and Alison Yoder led the Mid-Prairie defense with 14 digs.

With the loss, Mid-Prairie is now 3-4 on the year and 0-3 in the River Valley Conference. They will next be in action Tuesday when they host West Branch.
