It’s the battle of the unbeatens tonight as Washington (2-0) and Mount Pleasant (2-0) meet up on the gridiron at Case Field.

Both teams have looked impressive in the early part of the season and are coming off convincing wins a week ago. The Demons took care of business last week, defeating Mid-Prairie 55-7. Ryan Reighard has been efficient in his senior year as play caller, completing 12 of his 14 passes for 204 yards and running  for 139 for a pair of scores. Jack Redlinger has added 180 yards on the ground with a pair of touchdowns. Cale Hobscheidt has collected 14 tackles to lead a defense that has given up less than 350 yards of total offense in the first two contests.

The Panther defense has been stifling opponents as well, giving up just a pair of touchdowns on the year. Caleb Potts leads that group with 14 tackles and three for a loss. Offensively the Panthers don’t shy away from airing the ball out, as quarterback Zach Beason has connected on 30 of his 45 pass attempts for 424 yards and three scores. The Demon defense will have to tame the running abilities of Brody McGhghy, who has 248 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the year.

The chance to stay undefeated gets started at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Case Field. Tune into KCII starting at 7 p.m. for the Washington HyVee pregame show.
