Orange, yellow and red leaves can still be spotted in southeast Iowa. According to the State Forest Nursery, the peak time for viewing fall colors in the area is upon us and starting to pass. Almost all of the trees are showing color at this time but will be fading quickly. Ash, walnut and cottonwood are early turning species and may have lost most or all of their leaves. It is still the peak time for fall colors in the central, south central and southwest areas of the state.
