Another tune up for the Washington Demon girls basketball team took place Thursday evening in Wellman. The Demons took part in the Mid-Prairie jamboree last night, scrimmaging the Clear Creek Amana Clippers in two eight minute quarters.
Washington led all but the final 22 seconds of the exhibition, falling 13-12 to Clear Creek-Amana. Senior Amber Salow led Washington in scoring with five points. Senior Addie Pacha grabbed down a squad best four rebounds, while senior Morgan Kimball swiped four steals in the setback.
The Demons scrimmage schedule continues tonight at Washington High School. The WACO Warrior girls’ and boys’ basketball teams will make the trip to Washington to battle the Demons in the annual preseason matchup. Admission to tonight’s double header is canned food item for the school’s non-perishable food drive.
Tip off of the girls’ game is set for 6:30 p.m. followed by the boys’ contest at Washington High School.
