Tonight’s game has been postponed to Monday, December 21st.

Fresh faces are set to hit the court tonight in Washington County for two squads who were senior heavy last season. The Highland Huskies looks to defend their home court as the Keota Eagles come to town for a non-conference game.

The Huskies are coming off of a 15-win season a year ago, losing eight other contests. Keota finished with 11 wins and 11 losses. Both teams are trying to fill holes left by impactful graduating seniors.

Recent Highland graduate Chelsey Lampe led the Huskies in scoring with 279 points and swiped 110 steals, second most in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North. She was one of seven seniors on last season’s squad.

Recent Keota senior Madison Sheetz led the Eagles with 287 points, and her 102 rebounds topped the squad. She was one of seven seniors on last year’s varsity team. The Eagles’ top four scorers graduated in May.

The two teams are set to take the court tonight in rural Riverside as the Highland Huskies host their season opener versus the Keota Eagles. The varsity game has been moved up to 6 .p.m. from Highland High School.
