A nonprofit group is opening a center to help veterans in the area. Larry Dingman, a veteran, explains they are opening the Veterans Liberty Center this week on October 1st after much preparation. He explains the goal is to help veterans with educational resources, recreational opportunities, programming and more. Dingman adds they aim to help local veterans and any veterans from any branch across the U.S. who may have slipped through the cracks.

The center is operated by volunteers and is located at 2116 South Riverside Drive, Iowa City. For more information about the Veterans Liberty Center listen to today’s Washington Page.
