Crews will be in Wellman today to clean out a sewer line that was clogged earlier this week. When wastewater came through a manhole on 9th Avenue on Monday, the City was lucky enough to find someone willing to help out on short notice, and during the extreme cold. The wastewater was flowing normally by late afternoon.

City Administrator Nick Pacha says during an inspection on Tuesday, they found that a large amount of the grease and debris buildup that caused the clog on Monday remains in the sewer line. A company out of Cedar Rapids will be in town today to clean it out.

Pacha says with the work being done today, the whole ordeal has cost the City a few thousand dollars.
