With standing room only, the Washington County Conservation Board heard from many people in the crowd regarding the reinstatement of Park Ranger Bob Bellmer last night. The majority of those who spoke were in favor of reinstating Bellmer.

The meeting began with new Conservation Board President Craig Capps reading a prepared statement, he said a meeting was held with the County Attorney, Director Steve Anderson and two board members on Dec. 30th, in which it was decided that Bellmer resign or be terminated. On Dec. 31st, Bellmer submitted a resignation statement. Since that time, he has filed a request for reinstatement.

Last night, following many public statements and closed session, the board approved the future reinstatement of Bellmer, following certain procedures. Director Steve Anderson stated another closed session with the board and Bellmer will be held prior to the full reinstatement.
