A pay increase for city employees is on its way in Kalona. The average increase approved by the City Council at their meeting Monday was around 3.6%. According to Mayor Ken Herington, the city’s family health care policy was changed as well. Now, instead of covering 25% of employees premiums, they’ll cover 75%.
