While Iowa’s youth spring turkey season ends today and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources wants to pass along safety reminders as the adult hunting season starts.  Bob Bellmer, Park Ranger with the Washington County Conservation Board says to remain safe while hunting, don’t wear the colors of the flag because they are the same colors as a turkey’s head, be next to a big tree when calling a turkey, and know your target before attempting to take a shot.  Bellmer adds to avoid wearing the blaze orange because a turkey will see you approaching.  To find out more about the upcoming turkey season, follow the link here.
