As the Legislative Session winds down, lawmakers are still passing legislation, such as the “Storm chaser” Bill. These aren’t the storm chasers that follow tornadoes to study or film them. These are contractors who follow storms and misrepresent themselves to homeowners whose property has been damaged. They often claim that their work will be covered by the homeowners insurance when it will not be, or charge a much higher price then an insurance company would.

Representative Jarad Klein says the House felt it was important to pass this bill because storm season is approaching, and homeowners need to be protected. He doesn’t know if the bill will pass the Senate, but hopes it does before storm season hits.
