A lawyer at a local law firm wants to be the next Washington County Attorney. Republican Larry Brock announced recently that he would seek his party’s nomination for the post this year. Brock says reduced funding for Iowa’s judicial system will be a major challenge. Brock is a Washington native. He received his law degree from Pepperdine University in California, where he then practiced as a trial lawyer for 16 years. He returned to Iowa in 2006, and passed the state’s bar exam last year. He’s currently an associate attorney at Bordwell Law Office in Washington.
