The Sigourney girls basketball team opened their season Tuesday night, and as they come into the season they do so with two big players underneath. Savage Head Coach Jenny Hobbs says they have two returning starters in post players Carolyn Holm and Stephanie Atwood, both made first team all-conference last season. Hobbs says she has three new starting guards all of them are seniors. She has eight seniors which she feels helps because they’ve been around and know what they want to do. As a whole she says she likes this year’s group and feels they are a hard working group. The Savages are back on the court Monday traveling to play Belle Plaine.
