A new report from the Iowa Department of Public Health Indicates the number childhood lead poisonings is on the rise. Lynette Sievers is the lead testing coordinator for Washington County Public Health. She says a new law requires kids to have a lead test before kindergarten, but she advises that it happen around age one. She says lead based paint found in older homes is the most common source of contamination.
