A committee is recommending Washington County build a new facility for public health. Steve Olson is President of West Chester Savings Bank, and is serving as the committee’s financial expert. He says it came down to either building new, or remodeling existing space at the Orchard Hill complex. Olson says the committee elected to build new even though it would cost about 10 percent more. He says the Orchard Hill facility isn’t well suited for medical use and would require a lot of modifications. The overall project is expected to cost more than two million dollars.
